NINTH
The phase when friendships shift, grades count, and interests change so often your teenager has to explain, “This is me now.”
What do they need?
- Developmentally
- They are asking: Where do I belong? They are motivated by freedom.
Respond by: Mobilizing their potential
- They are asking: Where do I belong? They are motivated by freedom.
- Spiritually
- Fuel their passion so they will keep pursuing authentic faith and discover a personal mission.
How to lead at home
- Ensure your student is connected to other influential adult voices, like a Group Leader, who are helping to encourage and guide them.
- Empower them to serve. Check out local campus projects and serving opportunities.
- Ask questions that help them personalize their faith (e.g. What do you think about that situation? What would be the wise choice?).
- Discuss wise approaches to finances. We recommend Dave Ramsey resources, including his Financial Peace University.
How to partner with the church
- Encourage them to attend CedarCreek Student Night and
their Student Group regularly. Prioritize group connection! - Invite your student to attend GrowthTrack as they continue to discover how God created them to make a difference.
- We invite your high schooler to attend High School Camp!
