SEVENTH & EIGHTH

The phase when nothing YOU do is cool, everything is fun in a crowd, and one smart kid will keep reminding you, “Yeah… I know.”

What do they need?

  • Developmentally
    • They are asking: Who am I? They are motivated by acceptance.
Respond by: Affirming their personal journey
  • Spiritually
    • Provoke discovery so they will own their own faith and value a faith community.

How to lead at home

  • Purchase a young adult Bible. We recommend this one!
  • Pray for them, even if you they don’t pray with you. Check out our Parent Prayer Guide.
  • Ask questions that help them personalize their faith (e.g. What do you think about that situation? What would be the wise choice?).

How to partner with the church

  • Your 7th grader is invited to participate in CedarCreek Student Night and Student Groups. Encourage them to get connected and to attend Group regularly.
  • Don’t let them miss Fusion Camp! Register early for the best pricing! Don’t let them miss the best week of their summer.
  • Next Transition—Your 8th grader will soon be participating in a High School Group. Encourage them to get connected and to attend Group regularly.
