Small Group Highlight:
Throughout this series we will be looking at the story of Nehemiah and how he took initiative to rebuild the city walls. Colossians 3:23 says this, “Work at everything you do with all your heart. Work as if you were working for the Lord.” Through a variety of group activities, it is our hope that your child begins to realize the importance of taking initiative to help and serve the people in their life.
Each week, your 4th-5th grader will be engaging in a small group activity called the, “Wall of Initiative” where they will think of creative ways they can take initiative and think through how their ideas will affect the lives of the people around them. One of the Bottom Lines in this series is, “Don’t wait for someone else to help people in need.” To help put this into practice, your 1st-3rd grader will make a “cheer you up” card to give to someone close to them. They will take initiative to help and to bring encouragement to someone in their life. We are so excited to learn together!
If you are looking for something your whole family can listen to in the car, or dance to in the kitchen, we have a playlist ready for you!
